Because they can get away with it. Not all back people are racist. I have black friends and they're not. But this site is a prime example, You make a valid point and a load of brainless so called do gooders get on your case and start abusing you. And you'll notice they are all white, the black and coloured people who've answered you have mostly given you a constructive answer. The ones who haven't are the true racists because they are wrapping people in cotton wool just because they're a different colour, and not treating them as equal human beings. And the black people who have given you a stupid answer, like the ones who call you racist, are a result of living in this so called PC society. It like there are saying "hang on, you can't called a wrong doer if he's black, it's just not done"

You know its funny that you should ask this. Everyone is capable of being racist. I have noted in a Diversity Training session I attended that the presenter was a person of color. I had no problem with this until she opened her mouth and showed that she was more a racist than I. For some reason we all feel the need to be superior to someone else. Makes up for our short comings I guess. People of darker complexions than us IE. African Americans or as I would rather prefer Americans with darker pigmentation are blaming whites for hundreds of years of suppression. Hey...I wasn't there and neither were they....get over it and live for the now.

Trying very hard to ignore the first answer you have received to your question!
I suppose they are trying to find an identity and means of expression for they own group! Same for white people or people of a certain view point or anyone that belongs to a certain 'group' no matter what the core binding point of that group, ie politics, race, religion, sex, point of view etc, etc etc!
I personally thing that taking a racist stance in order to achieve the above, is actually counter productive and highly harmful and therefore should be discouraged when ever possible!
I am a realist however, and know unfortunately it is a part of humanity in the past and also today, but we should all try any reasonable, productive and legal means possible to prevent this kind of expression based on ignorance and hatred.

Everyone can be racist. Just because they were discriminated against like what? Two hundred years ago? it doesn't mean that they should discriminate others. Most blacks aren't really like that though, it's just the ones who think they are gangsters and have to protect their rep, and all that bull. They say "I can't get a job because they'll just give it to the white person", yeah, some places do, but the whole f'ing world.
Those black people just have a chip on their shoulder that was probably instilled into them by their parents about slavery. Yeah, it was really horrible, and nasty, but it is in the past, its not like you have suffered it yourself. Get over it, and move on.

I wouldn't say blacks in general, but my guess would be that they are still angry over slavery almost 150 years ago, and the racial clash in the sixties. Not all black people, but most of them still can't seem to get over those historical facts. Time to move on.
I also think it's the hip hop music industry that fuels this. It's a damn shame though since they are the ones responsible for all the violent shootings in the larger cities. Unfortunately, they won't stop ruining society since there are major money being made in that sector.

Hmmmm darn good question. Black ppl tend to be a lot more harsh I think. I am mixed (half cherokee and half black) and i was picked on from the time I started school to the time I moved out of my hometown. My mom told me (it was the chicks mostly, the black guys realized I wouldn't give them the time of day) that the chicks were just jealous that I wasn't as dark as them...I am really lite skinned....I have a pic on yahoo if ya want to see what I looked like. I just really umcomfortable around a bunch of black kids....guess I am a wuss huh? It doesn't help that I refuse to even talk or give a black guy the time of day. Sucks that a few jerk's mess it up for everyone else down the line. I hope that your experience hasn't turned you off on to black folks there are some good ones out there...just have to look hard...

There are some blacks that are racists just like there are different races (asians, whites and others) who are also racist due to ignorance on learning (or trying to learn) other people's cultures. Since this person who brought up this question is probably showing his/her ignorance as well as others who agree with the person's question on this post. Just because you had a bad experience doesn't give you the right to make that conclusion to your question.

Most black people, like most people in general, aren't racists. But remember, evil begets evil. Racism against blacks was so normal and widespread in America, for such a long period in our short history, that black people naturally drew closer together for support and survival as co-members of a persecuted group. A cultural tradition developed of clinging to their racial identity above nearly every other consideration. Those kind of bonds, forged in adversity, don't fade quickly.
