relax is the most important thing because you go their to have a good time and then certain things will come to you naturally. Here are some basic rules.
1. Wipe your mouth before you drink out of your glass, while eating , this way the glass will stay clean and the wine/drink will taste better. 2 Silver ware from the outside in, depending how many courses. Dessert lays in front of your plate. take your time in eating and enjoy the food. The waiter will pull your chair to be seated and sometimes also does this when you have been to the ladies room. If there is something that you do not understand, ASK, everybody had to learn this once so we all went through this and most important have a great dinner!

Forget etiquette! People who are used to dining at 4-star restaurants do whatever they please. Feel free to put you elbows on the table and slouch in your chair if you feel like it - it's not a job interview - it's dinner!
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING - IS TO ENJOY YOUR FOOD. I mean really taste it. Think about it. Pause when it's in your mouth and try to taste subtleties that are there. Sip your wine - notice how the wine tastes different before and after you've eaten. Notice how one course flows into the next. Enjoy the physical sensations of eating to the fullest ... and that's how you'll let the world know that you belong in a 4 star restaurant. Have a wonderful time!

When dining at a four star Restaurant you slways wanna remember the basic manners you were taught at home such as please, thank you, please pass whatever is out of reach. also which fork is the salad fork, not to drink your wine but sip it, if you are female put your napkin in your lap and if male tuck in your shirt, not to put your elbows on the table, and also not to take large bites into your food but to cut up your food and then eat. and last but not least if dinning with others and you need to go to the restroom ask to be excused from the table. and that should be the very basic. well oh yeah I know people that like to chat at dinner if something is funny try to keep the laugh, voices at the table. have fun

Be mild mannered. Don't wear anything too short or low cut. Don't feel you can't ask questions of the waiter, he is there to serve you, and as long as you pay for your meal what do you a care if you had to ask about the fuax gra. I have been dining in 4 and 5 star restaurants all my life and I usually ask what the waiter recommends for my meal. Oh... and be prepared many of these restaurants everything is ala carte i.e. you pick your salad, soup, entree and side separately. I hope this helped

A four star restaurant could be a hamburger joint. Where ever you eat, if there is silverware on the table, you use it. Use the silverware in this order, outside in. The smaller fork is usually the salad fork. Remember use the silverware, napkin on lap. When finished with meal, lay silver ware across plate, and napkin neatly (not balled up) beside plate.

I would advise you to do these things (I'm assuming it's fancy, but most apply anyways):
-sit up straight
-no elbows on the table
-napkin in lap
-no chewing with mouth open!
-use silverware furthest away from the plate first
-with soup, scoop up soup by pulling the spoon away from you
-ask for bread, etc. to be passed to you
-remember that what goes on at one table should not affect any other tables
-have fun!

sit up straight, do not put elbows on the table, no talking w/ mouth full(obviously), ask someone to pass you things instead of reaching over people, if you're not sure what fork to use or something like that then watch what someone else at the table does and imitate it but try not to be obvious about it, do not monopolize the conversation or talk about yourself too much.... that's all i can think of off the top of my head
Good luck, and Enjoy yourself! :)

your bread is on the left, your drink is on the right (b before d). napkin on lap, wait for everyone to get food before you start eating(depends on crowd), for utensils you work your way to the inside (use the fork furthest away from your plate), when passing salt you must also pass the pepper together...pepper and salt alway together....I think that's it

Use the forks from the outside to the inside.
Don't put your napkin on your plate when you're done.
