yes, the UN is controlled by the free masons. they also do more harm than good eg, the sex for food scandal. where UN officers were trading food that starving people were suppose to be receiving in the 1st place were being traded in exchange for sex, small girls and boys were exploited.

Are you serious?! I recently visited the UN and sure it seems pointless, but once you see how many things they're doing, you'll wish you never said that. First off, it'd be hard to eliminate them anyway. If you're thinking of bombing the place, it's international territory so there's lots of security. If you're thinking of calmly talking to people to get them to go away, you're going to need a lot of help.
Let me just put forward, that you won't have all the freedom you have right now without the UN. You wouldn't have the right to freedom, the right to own property or even the right to live if it weren't for the UN, because guess who created the list of these rights. That's right, the UN.
Okay, look at the problems in the world. I'll start off with a well-known one....landmines. People lose their lives, their limbs or their sight with these. Usually they also lose their place in society if they survive. Each landmine costs about $60 to make and place. To remove a landmine costs courage and well over $150. The UN has an organization that helps landmine victims and helps remove the landmines. The 80+ countries with landmines will be very sad if they don't have this help.
Refugees. Sure, you'll think that it's good that these people are safe, but you're wrong. THEY HAVE HORRIBLE LIVES NOW. The UN helped them by setting up "refugee camps". They aren't great, but they give very basic needs. Here's a story as an example. You hear someone knocking on your door, and threatens you. You think this is a one time thing, but it happens again. you feel unsafe, so you find a bus full of refugees on their way to a refugee camp. You hop onto this uncomfortable bus after being separated from your family for a VERY long and bumpy ride to the camp. When you arrive, you are given one bar of soap and some food and water, then you are assigned a house. These houses aren't pretty and are usually built by refugees previously at the camp. Other families also are living in your house. When you first see your house there is a skinny old man walking by. you decide to get washed up, and when you get back to your house you find the old man lying dead on the ground. The UN is doing their best to help refugees, and at least they're giving the refugees shelter.
The UN is fighting for peace everywhere. Because of them, we are yet to have a World War III. The UN was created right after World War II specifically to prevent another World War. Now they are helping in other ways.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes! We always wind up bailing everyone else out and what do we get in return??? The UN and the Geneva Convention keep us from effectively carrying out a war. Any time we take action, we have to answer to some other county's bitching. If we single handedly put a stop to terrorism, someone would STILL be bitching! Our hands are tied...so let the rest of the world fend for itself. This is just another outlet for our own governments wasteful spending and other countries freeloading.

To answer the person who said they are eliminating freedom of speech http://www.unhchr.ch/udhr/lang/eng.htm read article 19. Freedom of opinion and expression. Also, I see no way in which the UN takes advantage of us. In fact, we take advantage of it, we told it a absolute lie, that Saddam Hussein had WMDs, to help get othr countries to support the War in Iraq. If the UN no longer trusts us, perhaps we shouldn't lie straight to the world. The UN has saved hundreds of thousands of lives and averted numerous wars. Underfunding the UN has lessened its abilities to help, but it is better to keep it. No one knows how the last 50 years would have been without the UN. You wanna say that the UN is pointless? Tell that to every refugee that can only survive because of the food the UN gives them, tell it to every person who didn't die from a landmine blowing them up, tell it to every person saved by UN peacekeepers. Many of us think that just because the UN doesn't help each of us in particular that it should be eliminated. We don't ask the people who it does help.

Yes, without a doubt.
They're trying to subvert our Constitution.
They want to take away our right to own firearms.
They want to take away our freedom of speech...they've criticized our government for not cracking down and limiting our citizen's opinions of the U.N.
They need to leave and be treated like invaders if they come here to destroy our citizens constitutional rights.

I don't see how they serve much of a purpose either. And I bet they're getting a whole lot for nothing. If we can't overhaul it (and I can't see how that would be possible) I say get rid of them.

"Get US out of the UN" was a sign I used to see in the 60's UN has always been a vehicle for our enemies to gang up on us.
