Yes. World of Warcraft requires a monthly fee of 15.99+tax. They use this money to pay employees, buy new servers, maintain the servers, etc.
Warcraft III frozen throne is a completely different genre however, its RTS.
And to tom: Putting your credit card info is fine. Theres a little button on your account options that says "Cancel Subscription". When you click this they stop charging you and cancel your account.

As a now professional gamer, and leader/co-founder of one of the current top ranking guilds on WoW, I can attest to what that guy said about the Zygor guides from that website http://www.zygorguides.pcti-system.com .. When I first started using them, is when I started taking my WoW gaming to a whole new level. I wouldn't be where I am today without them. As advanced as I am now, I still use them as an awesome reference/aid. Highly recommended if you're serious about being an accomplished WoW gamer, or just a newb looking to quickly learn the ropes and advance. On a side note, I am looking forward to the Warlords of Draenor expansion coming in November, and the updated guide to go along with it. Should be epic.

Yes there is a monthly fee, but the amount per month depends on how many months you pay for at a time. If you pay monthly it's $14.99 per month. If you pay quarterly (3 months at a time) it's only $13.99 per month. And if you pay twice a year it's only $12.99.

yes you do need to pay 13 dollars a month, but DO NOT PUT YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER IN UNLESS YOU DON'T PLAN ON CANCELING YOUR ACCOUNT!
