I don't know but I am gonna guess that with the Swan hatch machine off the healing powers of the island could get screwed up. Rose will get sick, Sun will loose the baby, and Locke won't be able to walk.
One thing I'm worried about is that they've hyped the show up so much that no resolution will satisfy everybody and the show will die off when they either start to explain things or when they wait too long so they can get 100 episodes and go into syndication. With 20 some episodes a season can you really wait three more years for a resolution having no clue what's going on? If they explain things in season four (I don't think they have any intention of doing it in season three) will people stop watching for season five?

It's all so unpredictable, I don't really have any idea where it's going as far as the characters and the plot is concerned. However, there seem to be numerous mysteries (characters being in the same places as other characters during flashbacks, certain characters physically resembling other characters, the number showing up everywhere, etc.) I have a feeling won't ever be explained. And it'll be up to the viewer to decide whether or not there's a higher power at play or if they're all just coincidences.

You mean what's gonna happen in the third season? Well this is what i think is gonna happen:
1.)Michael will feel extremely guilty that he traded Jack, Sawyer, and Kate in for his son. So he and his son will go back to the survivors of his plane crash and try to rescue them.
2.) Walt will be having flashbacks about what happened to him while he was with the Others. Maybe it will also show Alex (Rouso's daughter).
3.) Hurley will go back to his people and tell them what the Others told him to tell them. Everyone would listen except Sayid will try to save them, and maybe gather up an army.
4.) Locke and Eko will somehow fix the computer.
Thats what I think will happen. But who's to know, J.J may make it completely different

The survivors are part of some multinational experiment that carefully selected them, one by one and put them in that fatidic flight; the Others work for the experiment sponsors and the survisors are under permanent digital surveillance, like Big Brother; the island is a mega high tech complex.

I don't think any of it is real. They're either crazy, someone is dreaming, or they're being exparamented. My reasons are:
1.) in the mental hospital, there was a picture of an island on the wall
2.) There are too many weird things going on
3.) there are no bugs on the island

Someone will...die...someone will become enlightened..someone will fall in love..someone will get hurt (physically and emotionally)..someone will get very ill and recover..someone will get lost..and found..someone will be liked by many..someone will be hated by many..someone will discover something..someone will learn to do something for the first time..someone will not be able to communicate his or her true feelings..someone will encounter an unknown entity...someone will find a way to escape from the island..and someone will sabotage their efforts to escape...etc.etc.etc.etc. As far as the island, that's predictable, it is surrounded by water and is able to sustain animal and human life forms indefinitely...or until the series in cancelled.

i like the mental hospital idea - they are all in the same hospital on the same experimental drugs that have them imagining they live on an island - that is why Hurley saw the blonde who died (I forgot her name the one he liked)
Most of them have enough of a crazy past that would landed them in an institue - the doctor with the dead wife and dead dad - the murderous bank robber and Sawyer is just crazy period

I read somewhere that it is the only TV show that hasn't even been written yet. They don't know what's gona happen. They make it up as they go. Kinda seems that way to me.
