Women have alot of problems and to cope with them they use alcohol to numb the pain they feel. Its not a good thing to do cause by drinking more they only make more problems for themselves.

It has to do with body mass and volume. Alchohol flows through one's digestive system, like any other beverage. It's contents, both good and bad, are absorbed by the body. Since women are smaller the alcholol travels the system faster. Thus, they feel the effect faster, (drunkeness) .
Also, since a woman's body is smaller, the alchohol has less time to dilute before reaching the liver and effecting the mind. Therfore, the alchohol reaches the liver, and travels the blood in a more dense, consentrated form than it would a man.
Physchology and hormones may also play a drastic role. Naturally, a woman's hormones cause inconsistant emotions. These drastic changes can make each mood seem more intense and overwhelming. For this reason, women may experience oppression, (or depression as most say) more frequently than men. Obviously, oppression is often an inspiration to drink.
For these reasons, women do not only become alchoholic quicker than men, but are addicted to drugs quicker than men also.

Usually, all food is digested and the nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine, which is after the stomach. However, the stomach actually is the one that absorbs alcohol, especially on an empty stomach. That's why u get drunk faster when ur stomach is empty. U also get drunk more if ur a woman since u have a smaller stomach. U absorb more alcohol faster... and then maybe that's why they become alcoholics.. I'm not sure about more women being alcoholic but i am sure about the more women getting drunk faster part.

Who says they do? Alcoolism is as much genetic as anything else. Women DO absorb it faster then men and maybe they may feel more of an emotional need to escape into the bottle but just because they're women doesn't men their more prone to becoming alcoholics then men. This is more of a case by case basis because each person's circumstance is different.

Because a man can drive a woman to drink easier than a woman can drive a man to drink. Plus, women are smart enough to call for a cab when drunk, while us men think we can drive...so we die in a car wreck before we become alcoholics...my theory anyway.

I'm sure there are physiological reasons... but I'd bet that the endless supply of free drinks from guys, from ladies nights, etc... probably plays a role. Guys, on the other hand, have to pay for their drinks which is a limiting factor for alcohol consumption.

I wasn't sure they did...but if it's the standard housewife, she has more free-time to drink (yet really no less stress than her working hubby). Teenage women can get wrapped up into the party lifestyle very easily, often being sexually and emotionally victimized by men...which may enforce their desire to "drink-to-forget." Other than that...I'm not sure.

Do they? Well my guess would be that women are more emotional than men and would most likely take to drinking their problems away.
