Since I hit forty it is not unusual to read a whole book while sitting on the john. After injesting my morning oatmeal yesterday I read War and Peace on the pot.
When I was younger I could barely get through a gum wrapper and I was up and outta there.

I've never worn a reading habit in the bathroom. Do Catholic librarians wear those? My dad was plagued with constipation. He died of colon cancer. I think there was a connection. He used to bring an entire library in with him. I have no desire to read in there, I just want to get in and out as quickly as possible. I would be interested in what Chillin&Grillin's reading habits are in the John. Hillbilly Weekly? Babes and Ammo? Manchester United Newsletter?

Haven't done that in years and I really don't know why.
Always used to enjoy that practice.
Usually had a Reader's Digest Magazine, National Geographic was good.
But I think after having my legs fall asleep and finally me, falling off the john might have something to do with the fact that I don't read there anymore.
I prefer the couch now, at least when I doze off, I don't hurt myself.....:))

We really do have a Bible on our throne-side table, it's the best place to catch up on any kind of reading when your busy. There are also funny books like "1001 Things to Do with Duct Tape" and our business magazines and newsletters.

At home, whatever I happen to be reading at the time - otherwise, the newspaper. At other people's homes, whatever they have in the bathroom - typically short articles - People magazine, Reader's Digest
