:)

I'm a dog man myself, never had a cat though although a few friends do have them.

Dogs are playful, cuddly, sincere, and that thing they can do by tilting their heads?? ADORABLE!

I believe that both cats and dogs are great. We have quite the menagerie at our home. We have 11 dogs, 3 cats, a ferret, 2 rats, a tank full of fish, and will be opening a breeding center for timber wolves later this year.

Our cats are so sweet and loving. We were very fortunate to get such nicely tempered cats. We have gone to many of our friends' homes, and their cats are downright mean. We will miss them when it is their time to go, but, hopefully, we will find more rescued cats with great temperaments.

Our dogs are bred for temperament, so they are all great. Many of our dogs are therapy dogs. Some are on sled teams. Others are search and rescue dogs. We enjoy all of the time we spend with them.

Unfortunately for you, I cannot say whether cats or dogs are better. If you love an animal enough, it becomes like a family member, and their flaws seem to melt away. All of my animals are my best friends.

I am not sure why you asked the question, but if you are looking for a pet, take some time and look around. You will be choosing a friend that will be with you all of its life, so make sure that whatever type of animal you choose, it chooses YOU. Best of luck!!

I've had both, and I favour dogs.
Cats are great if you want an independent pet who doesn't need a lot of maintenance. Sometimes they can snub you though....everything is on their terms. Also, cats are more difficult to train.
Dogs are smarter. They give you a means to get out and exercise and enjoy the outdoors. They are loyal, loving and forgiving. Imagine the feeling when you come home from a day's work and a dog lavishes you with attention?
A cat will meow around your feet cos it's probably hungry.

It depends on what sort of owner you will be. A dog is totally dependent on you and needs exercise everyday.
Cats are more independant so can exercise themelves and are good for people that dont have much time.
But then if you had an indoor and or long haired cat this would need brushing everyday and as much stimulation as a dog even though you wouldnt have to walk it!

Cats are better for me. They show intelligence and independence, each one has a great character. They don't fawn like dogs often do, but that makes it worth something when they do actually come to you- it's special.

People say cats are cruel, but it's not true... they can't help their hunting instincts. We have cats on our farm, and if they ever catch something, they eat it all. Urban cats get overfed, so they can't eat what they catch, but the owners should be criticised, not the cats themselves.

Well cats bath them selves and learn to use the litter box quick. On the other hand dogs smell and you have to bath them often and you have to house train them to use the potty pads and this will take awhile to do and in some cases you have to take them to get trained to this. Cats eat bugs and small reptiles such as small snakes and lizards. Dogs well they bark and protect your property. Which in my opinion I say cats are way better than dogs.

Well...that's kinda hard...I have 3 cats, all of which I love dearly because for one, they can clean up after themselves, you can throw them around without breakin 'em, and they aren't noisy and stuff. But I LOVE DOGS!!! They are soo playful and stuff, and great companions...but they need a lot more looking after and they can't be thrown around as much. So for me, I think I would rather own a cat for reasons such as..."responsibility" but I would rather have a dog to have more of a companion and for more fun. Haha! I hope that made sense.

I think dogs are better because they dont take life as seriously as cats. My dog is part stupid and part sneaky with a dash of comedy thrown in. I can never be unhappy when she is in the room!

Dogs. I have nothing against cats. I have always owned dogs. He goes everywhere with me except work. Just great company and protection.

I agree with the previous answer. It's a matter of what you want and like.
Dogs are great --- but they are like children (VERY dependent on you for all care)
Cats are wonderful --- but are more like adults (they can handle being alone for a while and will let you know - on their terms -when they need/want ya').

I love em both - hence what I do for a living! ^..^

Purely a matter of personal choice and circumstance!

I have had cats and also dogs!

Cats and dogs have good points and both have bad points as well!

Your choice..;-)
