My doc said that it depends on a woman's system, but it will work for SURE after three months. Can work earlier it depends.
Advice.
After you take the pill (which is a good idea you take at the same time so you create a habit and don't play with your hormones)observe your period, it should go along with the pills. If you don't have a regular period then GIRL, ASK YOUR DOC!
Don't you any of you girls check up and ask QUESTIONS to your doctors?. Hopefully you will take better care of yourself, because the way I see it, you guys are going straight for a pregnancy.
GOOD LUCK!

Yes, you will want to take the pill for at least a full cycle. The whole process is getting the pill into the system to guarantee that it works, and even that isn't a sure thing. Just be careful and make sure you take it the same time every day..that too will have an effect on it in the long run.

Didn't your OBGYN tell you? It actually takes 14 days to become effective.. meaning you should not have unprotected sex until after 14 days. Then you will be okay. But it does take one month for you to become more regular. You might see spotting the first month.

Most doctor's tell you that they become effective in two weeks I usually wait 3 weeks. All BC methods are differently so the time may vary I suggesst that you ask your docor to get bette informed they can give with a brochure informing you about the specific method that you are currently using.

If you read the insert, not sure if all are the same, but most take 7-10 days to become effective. But if you are ever concerned, use extra precautions.

It should be right away if you are not trying to get pregnant. I have never heard that it doesn't work right away. Just make sure you take the pill the same time every day or else it will not be 99.9% effective.

Doctors have said that once you've been taking the pill for a full cycle, then they will be best effective. Always remember "jimmy" first.

I'm assuming you mean birth control pills. In that case, you should probably wait til after your first period AFTER you start taking them. In the meantime, condoms work right away.

I just started taking them too and I've heard it takes atleast two to three months to be totally effective. I would be safe and say three months though.
