i would recomend the epideral! just my opinion.
it is the most horriable pain in the world it's all worth it of course but why go through all that pain if you don't have to?
it is totally healthy to have sex while pregnant unless your doctor tells you otherwise! just don't have rough sex or else it might make you go into labor!

No drugs are good if you can do it. But it will not make you less a woman if you dont. I had one with an epidural and one without. The epidural was great! I did not feel a thing and it just makes the waist down go numb so you dont feel "groggy" or "drugged". It was better than all the pain I felt with my second. Just remember you cannot have an epidural if you dilate past a 7. So if you want one let the nurse know before you hit that point.
Ok the sex thing. Yes it can induce you. Sperm is a natural cervix softener. I would keep having sex until the doctor advises otherwise. Usually if there is a cause of concern for the doc he\she will let you know. In fact sex is very good if you are overdue it can speed things along.

I just had my first child, I was going to go with the epideral, but ended up needing a c-section. It really depends on how well you can handle pain. They won't give you the epideral until you are about 4 cm dialted, so you have time to decide. If you can't handle the early contractions, go with the epideral. And yes, it is perfectly fine to have sex during pregnancy. I was worried about that too. Some of the chemicals in the semen can help soften the cervix, but that doesn't usually happen. Having sex during pregnancy won't induce labor.

Sex is great during pregnacy. There are really no health risk. Just try not to get to wild. Going natural is ok. But If I were you I would say your not sure what you want to do. In case you change your mind. So that you still have the choice to do an epideral. You are the mom so you can decide to induce or not. If you want to have your baby on time. Stay active right now. Walking, do things you can. It will help baby come on time. Try not to be scared. I was scared it made my blood presure rise. This is going to be one of the greates moments in your life. So try to enjoy it. Good luck and congrats.

I had natural childbirth with my son. I plan on doing it again with this pregnancy, (I'm 38 weeks pregnant,) because it was a very good experience for me. Also, I have a phobia of needles, and even in labor I was more afraid of the needles. I go to the hospital for labor because I also know that if something goes wrong I will be where me and the baby can be cared for.

I am not afraid of labor and did not think it was the worst thing ever. That's just me, though. Everyone has different pain thresholds, every has different ways of dealing with things. It isn't right or wrong to have natural or epidural or c-section if you need it. You just need to decide what will be best for you.

As for sex, it is okay as long as your doctor doesn't tell you not to.

with my first 2 I didn't take anything and they weighed 7pound 7 oz and 10pounds 4 oz. The third I had an epidural and wished I did it with the first two. Yes the pain is the worst pain you'll ever feel. I said through my entire pregnancy that I did the first 2 natural and I wasn't going to get one with the last one but after 21 hours of hard labor I was seriously going to hurt somebody. I wanted it over with and it moved my delivery along alot faster, she was 9 pounds 5oz.If I wouldn't have had it then my labor would've lasted a lot longer and I'm terrified of needles, especially when they're going into my spine but the needle pain was nothing compared to the contractions. It's all up to you on how well you deal with the pain. It's also ok to have sex during pregnancy unless your doctor says other wise. I don't think it'll enduce labor unless you're overdue. I went overdue with my last 2. With my second one my husband and I had sex and I went into labor an hour later. With my 3rd one my husband is deployed so I had to let it happen on it's own.

Only certain people it is okay to have intercourse while being pregnant. And it will not cause induce labor. I would suggest to ask a doctor. I'm sure he'll say okay as long it's not to rush or to strong so you keep your breathing level, and the child's level right. A natural pregnancy at the hospital with no drugs is okay but just remember that you are going to go through worse pain and it's going to last longer. Ask a doctor. My friend had a natural birth with no drugs with her second child. It lasted longer for her and she was in more pain. She ended up regretting it, but everyone is different. (Last part not very encouraging). I don't want to scare you, but it is your choice.

No one can really tell you which is the best way to have a child. I had both of mine natural, no pain meds. Some people can do it, some can't. There are all sorts of options, you should talk to your dr about them. You'll get opinions about every method possible. Some think that water births are the best. You sit in a pool of water and give birth. As I said the best thing to do is talk to your dr about the options.

As for having sex. You can have sex, as long as you feel comfortable having it. I'll give the same advice, talk to your dr. It could induce labor, as could lots of things at this stage. But the baby if he/she does decide to come early should be alright unless you or he/she has had problems during the pregnancy. Again, talk to your dr.

Don't be afraid to talk to your dr and to ask questions. Remember, he/she works for you and it's your body. You have the right to ask them questions and to expect answers without being made to feel like you're silly for asking the questions.

Hope this helps.

Sex will induce labor if you're that far along. As far as having it naturally verses drugs, it's simply a personal decision. I had an epidural when I was in labor because I felt like I was going to kill somebody. Contractions are the worst pain in the world, there's not even something to compare it to, they're just so horrible. I'm not saying that to scare you, but be prepared, and keep your options open. If you're too far into labor they can't give you an epidural.

Have all the sex you want, UNLESS the doc tells you NOT to. Toward the end when you're dying to have labor start, you'll do absolutely ANYthing to get it going, believe me!

Also, if you're freaked out about the pain, talk to your OB/GYN ahead of time. You can go with a mild sedative, or a full epidural. I went natural... ALL natural, and wish I had gotten the option for an eppy - I labored too quickly for it!

Good luck!
