Precious, Japanese did not lose. Japan lost the game. Your mere question shows you have intertwined the whole of who you are in a game. What's next, will you get depressed if Japan come 9th in a track meet? A game is just a game, and no one remembers them. What about all of the great Japanese victories in the past? Many have been forgotten.
If you are going to sulk, sulk in the fact that Japanese people are smart and competitive. In other words, cheer up! You have much to be happy about, and it has nothing to do with a little soccer ball.

Japan did not attack enough and wilted under the 35 degree heat. Australia's three goals came from substitutes. No doubt fresh legs in attack did help. The other thing I noticed was that Japan simply could not finish its few attacks well, a better team may have scored two more goals and put the tie out of Australia's reach.

why do you think? because Australia got 3 GOALS IN THE LAST 9 MINUTES past Japan, that's why! If Japan will let 3 goals in 9 minutes then it's not a disappointment in my opinion but a failure to defend!

Austarlia were the underdogs and sometimes being sn underdog gives a team a real surge in energy and commiment, I think they had a good day.

Well the aussies kept pushing and pushing and finally got their goal to win it. Plus in my opion (which is just that an opion) the ref did not do a very good job.

I'd like to think it was luck, but it was proababy because Austrailia's first goal somewhat disheartened Japan, and their defense broke down.
