You're mom's cute. Let me guess, you're the baby of the family or an only child??

She will eventually figure it out.... You'll end up having an accident (underwear, sheets, etc), or she'll find evidence of it in the trash, and then you'll have to deal with it and she'll be all hysterical ("Why didn't you tell me sooner????"). Besides, do you depend on her to buy your groceries, personal products, etc? In which case, you'll have to tell her eventually you need fem products.

Might as well just suck it up, tell her, let her get her crying jag over with and move on!

Tell your mom. She has experienced her first period before, as well as other stuff related to being a young woman. Thus, she can help you deal with it and deal with the products that you may have to use to clean up the "flow." She might not be proud of you, but it's perfectly natural. Your mom seems really emotional.

I think that is just a mom thing. All mom's do that, I know I do with my daughter. She's 14. I think it is very important to tell your mom that you have started your period. you could say something like please don't make a big deal out of this mom, or please don't cry in front of me over this it's kind of embarrassing. SHe should understand. That is what my daughter does with me, and I take her feelings in consideration. But i think you need to tell your mom so that you can be properly educated about it and she can get you the personal care items you need. Good luck telling your mom and welcome to being a woman.

Well that is the best thing to do. I wish i had a mom like yours because when i told my mom she didnt even care. I had to have my sister explain to me everything about the menstrual cycle. Tell your mom and no matter how hard she cries just know she cares alot about you and will proble give the best advice. so listen to her.

ya, as a mom, I definately think you should tell her. Having your first period means she's gonna have to buy more pads and stuff, and she'll need to know. Also, she might have some good insight on what you should expect every month from now on.

I have a daughter who is almost 12 and we talk about it all the time. Your mom should be more than glad that you came to her with the news. It is a normal way to feel how you do, but trust me. Your mom not only should want to know, but needs to know so you will be able to obtain the personal hygiene items that come along with it.
