My husband and I are relocating. Where we live in the northeast is the HIGHEST amount of satanism, shamanism, wicca, witchcraft and idolotry.

Stead fast 7 which is my life long mate in God has said repeataly over and over he cannot WAIT to get out of here.

I never fully understood what he truly meant until I was outside resting and talking to God.

There is a lot of opression and depression and hopelessness and despair and because of this people are either indifferent, apathetic,
meaning I don't care or very hostile baout anything pertaining to the Lord.

My beloved sees this very clearly where he works and I am proud of him for not quitting but realizing it is what it is. He is not perfect and beleive me niether am I see Romans 3:23.

But it is very hard to be a light in the misdt of tremendous darkness.

Do other states have this type of oppresion also. I am talking about Long Island New York

I predict you won't be happy wherever you go. You are the type that expects things to be so perfect, the slightest amount of activity that you don't approve of, no matter how rare and far between, will always be a major issue for you.

This world you describe as a flurry of pagan activity is something you read about. It's like someone who watches too much TV. When you move away, you'll probably believe the same things are happening in your new town.

If you think it's me that's nuts, simply ask sober people in the same area if they perceive the same thing. But that probably won't help either. I'm sure you're convinced that ANYONE around you is a pawn of the devil and should be burned at the stake.

Perhaps the oppression you're referring to is a result of the ridiculous pace of life around here combined with the ever-increasing regulations and bureaucracy. Is it apathy we're experiencing or just burn-out? I don't know about you but I'd Iike to be able to catch my breath once in a while. I'd also like to have the time to pull my head out of the sand and get involved in a movement to de-regulate Connecticut. Not just in my State but nationally, there are so many new safe-guards in place to try to prevent crime, yet the criminals keep getting away with stuff and the average person is treated like a criminal and put through a big run-around in order to do anything. Why don't we just accept that the safe-guards don't work and they are a big part of what is ruining our quality of life? I'm 42 years old. I've probably only lived half my life and, sadly enough, I can already look back and remember a time when things were better. We're so busy these days trying to comply with regulations, getting a permit to to shed an eyelash-type-of-thing, that we struggle to squeeze in the really important things like our family and our spirituality.

Speaking of spirituality, why does it bother you that other people have different ways of expressing theirs than you do? Christianity is not for everyone but tolerance could be, couldn't it?

Actually the most pagan city in the us is San Francisco and the second is minneapolis, MN. SO you are wrong. BTW we are everywhere. Witches that is. You might just be noticing it now, but we are by far the fastest growing religion in the US. Our numbers double every five months. In fact, in your life time. boh the US and Canada will no longer be Christian majorities.

I guess its time you learn a little tolerance of your fellow man.

You might like it here. I live in Manteno, IL. There are only 5 known Wiccans living here. The town has approx. 8200 people.

I call it the Belly Button of the Bible belt. I think its pretty oppresive here. It's one of those things you don't speak about unless you want to get lynched here. Kinda scary.

I can't wait to get out of here. I'd love to be in Minneapolis.

How is freedom of thought and religion oppression? I don't think oppression means what you think it means. And I agree with the answer above- yes, you should get out as soon as possible.

To answer this question I will use one of my favorite quotes, "I am treated as evil by those who feel persecuted because they are not allowed to force me to believe as they do"
