Definatley head to Downtown. Bunch of clubs on Main Street. Try Dean's Clothing Store (I think that's what it's called, I know it's Dean's though), it used to be a clothing store but it's been turned into a bar, very cool. There are a bunch of other bars too, "The Flying Saucer", "Ruggles", "The Mercury Room", "Cabo's", etc. Sunday afternoon or saturday night (sunday is better though) you might want to hit "Sam's Boat" off of Richmond Ave. It's a fun crowd. You can also go to an Astro's game or if you can't get tickets just watch it across the street at "The Bus", it's a great sports bar and sometimes Astros players go there after the game. If you're more "artsy" you can get tickets to one of the shows at the HOBBY center in Downtown. It's a brand new theater and has some good shows. Or you can to the Angelica Theater in Downtown too, on Smith Street, and watch an independant film and then walk to one of the restaurants next door like the Hard Rock or the the Downtown Aquarium (it's a restaurant that has a huge, huge indoor aquarium with sharks and all, and a ferris wheel and other rides and games. There is a ton of stuff to do in Down town Houston. Hope you have fun.

I've always liked the Richmond St. strip (very near US59 and I 610 on the southside, take 59 to Chimney Rock, Richmond is about a block down, and the clubs are right there). There are some really nice clubs downtown too.

The Question is not what is there to do. It is what there is not to do.
Houston is capable of filling all desires. Ask your concierg'e or hotel manager. They usually have their fingers on (and in) the pulse of things.
