trial and error, before long you'll know exactly what you want, and wonder why the heck you let your husband tell you what to do in the first place.

Just do what you want to do and think before making decisions. Be wise and use your own mind as you do have a mind of your own. You need to build your self esteem... Go on a shopping spree and pick out something that you like... This is a good way to start and do it by yourself so no one is around to make the decision for you and go treat yourself out to eat at a place you want to try and eat at. This will be fun but it is a start! Hope this helps some and if you need to talk my wife and i are here to help you.

It is hard to become independent when not only your husband but your family did it to you too.
Indian girls go through this (most of them do and I'm Indian) so I can relate. Just start getting a life for yourself, hang out with female friends , do things YOU want to do by yourself alot. You will figure out what YOU like to do, how YOU like to spend YOUR time without anyone having to tell you what you need to do, and how and when to do it....You will eventually find your own independence!!! I did!!!
This theory may not work for anyone who was in this situation, but it worked for me!!! I hope my advice helps!!!
Best of Luck!!

Connect with a support group in the area you need help.
If drugs, go to A.A. Meetings.
If work, go to Job Fair Meetings.
Find other women in your community who can build you up until you can stand on your own two feet.

Wow! What opportunities lie ahead for you! Look at both sides or pros and cons of whatever decisions you need to make and take your time. Perhaps a close friend can offer advice, too.

Go back to the days before i had a demanding husband and go from there. Just remember that you have brain and it is not there just to be pretty. Use it.

Find another man, quick, so you can do what he asks at all times. The last thing the world needs is another illogical female running around making stupid decisions.

Find yourself. It is time to do you. Spend more quality time with yourself and if you can afford it try pampering yourself. The best thing you can do at this point is get to know you again.
Being married doesn't mean losing oneself. I for one have learned this myself. Find your center and you will realize that you always had a choice.
