You're all wrong so far. What are TV shows selling? Think about it now. What kind of show gets paid more for commercials?

You're still all wrong lol, but there are a few good answers. I don't mean commercials, what are TV shows selling? The commercials are the ones that are buying it!

Tv is selling us health in a counterproductive fashion, for example, commercials come on and its McDonalds with a new salad (yay, health food...in amounts that will probably make you want to eat two salads, getting fattening here), and then on the next commercial they show you how to take a pill and lose ten pounds in a month (which is in no way healthy) and the whole time you are staring at these overly skinny people...they are not telling you "hey, if you are happy as is, or if you are already thin just ignore me" they are telling you "hey you,it does not matter, your still not good enough"
Now, obviously publicity varies according to the hours and the programs...they show toy and snack commercials during cartoons...the "your not good enough as is" sh** during soap operas...all the senior citizen products and health insurance commercials during "The Price is Right"...car dealerships during the news...and in a quite insulting fashion McDonalds commercials (featuring all black actors) during shows like Apollo comedy hour or Apollo Amateur night (no other restaurants, just McDonalds) and I would like to know what thats about...
To sum it up, they are all trying to sell you something different depending on your demographic group and interests, but in general they are trying to create a need in you, whether it be to achieve things you don`t have yet, to buy things you don`t need, to see yourself in an unrealistic way or to medicate yourself in an unhealthy fashion...I still think the best way to use those minutes is on the toilet....

TV is selling a feeling. It's a feeling of being included in a framework of personalities who may or may not be the kind of people you would want as friends. It mimics friendship in that you get to know intimate details of characters' lives, but it isn't the same as having a set of friends respond to your own needs - except for being kind enough to give you a bathroom or snack break. That's all I can come up with.

drugs and sex and porn your mom. and Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."
