Because if you hadn't gotten there,
you would be somewhere else.

Are you really? That depends on your definition of yourself. There is the physical self, the conscience and the observer. These three identities exist symbiotically and they are all just as important to your existence, but they often drift. You only exist at a certain location once the three collapse on the idea that you are there. The question is somewhat of an oxymoron. You may be walking down the sidewalk, but what of your conscience? Is it with you or are you thinking of another time, place or event while still walking in automatic mode? Or you may be observing yourself from across the street, imagining how you appear. There is more to being than your physical self. "Have you ever seen yourself through the eyes of someone else you've become?" Ramfta.

Because wherever you go there you are. YOu can run from yourself but you won't get far. YOu can dive to the bottom of a medicine jar. But wherever you go there you are.
you are you. you can't run from yourself physically, and who and what you are always follows you psychologically. YOu can numb your awareness with alcohol, but it doesn't go away.

Why is it that where ever you go, there you are?

Well, this could be because you are following someone. Perhaps in a stalker-like fashion. Sounds like a line I heard before I had a resraining order put on me....

This is not absolutely true. Your subconcious can be elsewhere from your waking self. Your mind can take you to a different time through memories. Your soul can yearn for your true love while you are with another.
