Saving Bush,
Gorge Bush trips and falls over a bridge railing while jogging one morning. Before the Secret Service guys can get to him, three kids who are fishing pull him out of the water below. He’s so grateful, he offers the kids whatever they want.

The first kid shouts, “I want to go to Disneyland with my friends!” and Bush replies, “No problem. I’ll take you on Air Force One.”

The second kid says, “I want a new pair of Nike Air Jordans,” to which Bushl says, “I’ll get them for you and even have Michael sign them!”

The third kid says, “I want a motorized wheelchair with a built-in TV and stereo headset!”

Bush, looking perplexed, utters: “But, son, you don’t look like you’re handicapped.”

The kid answers, “I will be once my dad finds out I saved your sorry *** from drowning.”

60% of adults in this country are overweight and the epidemic is growing(sorry for the pun). Our children are very fast on their way to being overweight along with all the accompanying diseases that entails. The problem is then super-size menus and the "convenience foods." People are lazy with only 2 in 10 adults getting any kind of regular exercise and children are not taught to get out and play baseball but stay inside and play video games.

People better wake up soon to what they are doing to their bodies and their children. There is no need for a "super size" anything let alone a 64 ounce soft drink. Eat less, exercise more. That's the only way you lose weight. Forget all those stupid diets that come and go every month. Just eat less and exercise more. A good exercise is to put your hands out and push yourself away from the dinner table!!!!

Being overweight (Fat) is self inflicted, there are no medical conditions that make you 27 stone, it don't happen in Ethiopia.

And as some of the other answers say it is not just America, though they have created a world of fast fat high carb diners. But the Europeans Indians and Australians need to get thinner.
And eat less junk

it can be much more complicated than that. One reason obesity is getting so much attention is that obesity leads to diabetes, hypertension and other medical conditions. As the Baby Boomer generation starts to retire, this will create a burden on the Medicare system, with all of these conditions which can be caused by obesity.
As the others are said, there are multiple causes of obesity, besides over eating of junk food.
So rather than spending a lot of time asking why there is obesity, a better use of resources is to help people lose weight, develop healthy eating habits, and encourage food manufacturers and restaurants to offer low cost healthy food choices. Cheap food that is readily available is often less healthy food.

First of all learn how to word a question. 2ND If someone works a lot they don't always want to come home and cook the solution is to eat out its quicker. Or it could be a genetic marker that makes some people who eat incorrectly gain weight, there are many different reasons why people gain weight, some are medical, genetic and other. But different people make the world go around. Not everyone can be anorexic

Mainly down to stupidity, ignorance and lack of self-control. But the British have overtaken the Germans as the second fattest race, and the Scots are the fattest Britons, still our jaws drop when we see how fat the Americans are. I reckon so many people have convinced themselves that obesity is a disease (of course it isn't, it didn't exist until fairly recently) that they think this excuses them from doing something about it rather than eating sensibly and getting off their huge lardy arses and doing some exercise. Also being fat lazy b*stards it would never occur to them to actually cook anything themselves.

I would imagine that poor nutrition, poor eating habits and lack of exercise account for most weight problems. Overeaters Annonymous is a 12-step program for overeaters and can be a wonderful source of education, information about healthful eating, and a wonderful support system. I grew up in a home that stressed healthful eating and I continue to read current information in books and magazines. I prefer my own food preparation because then I know exactly what is in it.
