The chicken crossed the road in search of more worms. And I believe the chicken came first, if it had been the egg there would not have been any one to set on it.

The chicken crossed the road because one of its basic, primitive needs would be met by doing so. The egg came first obviously. Eggs were around before chickens existed (ref: reptiles, etc).

Also, religion does not even factor into this argument; there is indisputable evidence of evolution. Regardless of whether or not God exists or His role in creationism, reptiles/birds laying eggs were around for along time before chickens.
