Studies have show political affiliation is mostly emotional - maybe minorities are a little less eager to spend soldiers lives on an obviously poorly conceived political and economic adventure that so far has mostly benefited Halliburton and various defense industries. The fact that minorities are over-represented among those dying may be a factor, as well as the old-white-guy look of the administration. And look where Bush's power base is - mostly-white business owners and rural white fundamentalists...

Those last two may explain why the BushCons were too ignorant to see that the Shiites, Sunis, & Kurds wouldn't get along much better than the Serbs and various ethnic groups did in the Balkans. Neither Rumsfeld, Cheney, or George W learned the most basic lesson of foreign policy in the past 40 years - forcing people to adopt your culture at gunpoint is expensive and has a huge maintenance tail...

Well, I understand that you do not mean any offense and are not trying to provoke any sort of "racial war" - however, the very basis of your question is race oriented. Personally, I do not know very many black people, but everyone that I know cannot stand the thought of this war, cannot stand the current president in office, and cannot stand the fact that we have so many people over there dying for what has slowly seemed to turn into a war for oil. I would ask one thing, just to understand where you are coming from, why do you hold the opinion that mostly white individuals are for the war? Is that based on media? On personal experience? And if from personal experience, where do you live? The reason I ask is that perhaps you live in a location where there is much support for the current president and his actions (ie. the war), but that does not necessarily portray the national opinion - at least as far as white men and women. As I said, most everyone that I know and speak to cannot stand this whole situation - and I know mainly white people.

The general public seems to be more concerned with TV, music, movies, and other forms of entertainment. If you looked at the percentage of the population that has the same passion for politics that most people have for the above you will find mostly white people. I'm white, in the military even; I work medical so you can imagine what I've seen come out of the war.

I think probably it has to do with the population and percentages of races. More whites, so it is reasonable that you'll have a greater percentage of them in support of the war. Add to that, that generally blacks are aligned with the Democratic party, who we know oppose the war. Plus, you've got to figure in the entire race issue, whether we want to believe it or not, there are still some very divided lines that even black politicians are hesitant to cross. So a black politician in support of the war may be leery about contacting the press and begin to speak out. It's a good observation on your part, and I can't recall the last time I saw or heard a black person speak in favor of the war.

HON, Most white people are not for any of this war.. We don`t control anything. We get to vote for our president every four years . So who ever we voted for is in there for 4 years.. We are pretty much stuck with them

They tell us this is against Osama Bin Ladin and the terrorists..Because of his attacks on the World Trade Center towers that killed over 3000 innocent men. women, and babies. We were mad at THOSE people YES.

And somehow we end up in Iraq and we are completely in disagreement with what Bush is doing.. Just check and see what his popularity polls are here in America.. But it is our children over there and we love our children and we back them no matter what the government does..

Please know that there are good and bad in all races and peoples.. Let`s stop the hate... God made is each unique and special. He didn`t make us all the same.. We are entitled to be who we are..

I apologize if you have been offended by my Countrymen.. We don`t all feel like that. No more than all your folks believe the same things..

Oh, and one more thing, America gets over 80% of our oil from Canada and the Gulf of Mexico.. So it is NOT about the oil.. That is ridiculous...

God bless & hugs from Texas. {:-)

Haha, this is funny. Well, in my opinion, it seems that mainly Republicans (Bush supporters) are for the war, and that make sense. And the Republican party is dominated by what race? Caucasian, exactly.

So it seems that mainly white people are for the war, due to this face. But there is also a number of white people against the war (composed of Democrats and Liberals). A lot of black people are also Democratic and/or Liberal, so... yeah.

Hope I've helped.

As a white person who only personally knows one white person that's for the war, I can answer like so: the reason it SEEMS that only white folks are for the war is because (a) white people are over-represented in the media, and (b) the media is very much in support of the war.

I can't speak for all white folks, but there are a LOT of us who aren't for it, believe me.

What you see if a visible minority opinion. What I mean by this is the pro war people are constantly working thier rhetoric. Why is this? Well the majority of white people are not for the war. They need to keep this rhetoric going or admit they made a mistake.

knock it off darth. and to the asker, i'm all for you asking what ever you want, but you have to realize you're only encouraging folks like "darth" to make stupid comments here. although, i don't think the question was the brightest either and (no-offense) is VERY off key. where are your statistics???? have you researched this or are YOU just popping off. i know a lot of people from Detroit (which is where i'm from) that have joined the service and also support the war. i don't agree with going to iraq and trying to snatch away their oil, bombing their country and ruining innocent peoples lives either. but....................well that's a whole different topic right there all together.

Granted, I see alot of white people for this war, but being white I am far for it. 100% of the people I communicate with are against it and most of them are white. But to answer your question, the white people you see for the war are brain dead rednecks, that hope the lower income races, (no-offence) black, hispanic, and other races than white will be cut down. That is my answer to that. Sorry if it isn't the one you wanted to hear.
