I was in a dead-end career. I hunted for months, took a temp job doing something I'd always wanted to do, then found a full-time position. 10 years later, I'm at a senior level position and love my new career. Having the courage to try something new is important, even if it might not be the "exact" fit. Try, try.

I had a dead-end job teaching English at a private school in Italy. The money was okay but there were never going to be any new challenges or room for advancement, so I quit and moved back to Canada. Now I've got a job with room for advancement AND I'm going back to do a Masters degree full-time in September. There are lots of jobs with room to grow- keep reading the newspaper and networking through friends, family and acquaintances to find a better job! Also, polish up your resume before you hit the job market again!
