Maybe the definitions of a driveway and parkway Will help. A driveway is simply a private road of sorts that ends at a private structure. Needless to say with a driveway you have no choice but to park. A parkway is known also as a limited-access highway. Freeways and toll areas can also be called or known as parkways. Normally parkways are roads that have continuous and through traffic. Not a road way you should or would want to park in.

If you parked on a parkway, you wouldn't be there too long before someone nailed you.
