Because one was a juvenile excercise in fantasy and the other was based on a really cool comic book.

Because it is a documentary film and not a glossed up Hollywood film..that spend half or more money in marketing than the actual film.....there is a difference people!....People can't handle the truth right now...they are in denial.....and are not really ready to see this type of film.....until **** hits the fan that's when they'll start calling on there GOD for help...anyway I don't want to get started..It's an educational film that everyone should see.

Because "An inconvenenient Truth" is a political nightmare and could/will break apart the Republican party. It is inconvenient for money hungry politics to teach America of the destruction we are causing ourselves.

Profit margins. But I'd really like to see "An Inconvenient Truth", so I hope it's playing around here somewhere.

I know it seems weird, but I think most people go to the movies to relax and forget about their problems. Movies that keep you on the edge of your seat, offer a momentary escape, and let the good guys always win will always do better. Those that require you to look at hard issues are good and important, just maybe most people are looking to movies for something else.

Because the public is smarter than you think. They are more inclined to go see something that is cleary fiction and for entertainment only, than to see some rubbish that is purported to be the truth.

Movie theaters want to play movies that will make them money. They choose what to play, according to what they think the people want to watch.

Because most of us have a low tolerance for fantasy unless it's got lots of good looking babes/guys - money talks/BS plays in fewer theatres...
