Yoda and Obi Wan disappear, but Qui Gon Jinn doesn't, and neither do all the Jedi who are slaughtered in Episode III. Are they different to the others, or is this just an oversight on George Lucas's part? Darth Vader doesnt disappear either, even though he turns back to the Force in the end...

In Revenge of ths Sith, Yoda instructs Obi Wan to study as Qui Gon had found a way of communicating past death, which was the Jedi's answer to the eternal life that Anakin was seeking. So you have to study to do it

I'm not exactly sure. I think it has something to do with how strong in the force the Jedi is. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Qui-Gon were all very powerful Jedi.

I believe it is that the extremely powerful Jedi become one with the force. Gin was not that overly powerful but was very wise.
