I have a denim jacket thats a few years old, and ive never washed it. I usually spray febreeze on it because I do not want it to fade in the wash or shrink. I also like the slight brown tinge in it, and do not want that to wash out as well. How can I clean this without ruining it?

My goodness.....Febreeze only removes Odors....and it ain't that good at it! Please....Wash the poor old thing! It's cotton....Put it ONLY in cold water if you don't want any fading to occur. Warm...if you really want it to come clean. But, since it hasn't been washed for soooooo long! I'd suggest soaking it with a cup of BIZ first and then add your regular detergent (no bleaching agents!!) and put it through a cycle. Maybe you should use the gentle cycle....just to be on the safe side.... Clean denim usually doesn't have a brown tint to it.....unless it's dirty. I'm a seamstress & quilter....and very familiar with fabrics.... I've never seen a brown tinted denim..... Allso, if you have anything else you havent cleaned in 5 years....please throw that in with it. A little bit of water isn't going to hurt it. Neglecting to clean it could....

Dude! Wash that jacket at least 3 times! You could ditch the jacket and buy a new one.
