If religion is about becoming a better person through the teachings of religion than why is it that there is so much strife. If a person can get morals and hope and faith in a religion different from somebody elses than what makes that wrong. Why are there so many fights and hatred amongst eachother when the teachings on the basic principals are the same? Why cant people just let people believe in what they want to believe if it gives them hope and faith in something better?

Oh, honey, SING IT!!! I agree with you one hundred precent. Seriously. I truly think all religions are basically the same at the core anyway. I hope more people learn this simple fact. Many blessings to you, man.

Actually, most religions are very VERY different at thier core, even though they may have some surface similarities. For example: hindu is a religion based on the idea that we are all gods, or perhaps part of a meta-god; Islam believes that there is one god; Christianity believes that there is one God, but with three distinct parts.

Most people are willing to fight over what they believe, in thier core, to be true. As religion is generally one of the deepest-held truths of many people of this planet, what else would people fight the hardest over?

Look at it this way; because most religions are so different, and they all claim to be exclusive, then one cannot be right without all the others being dead wrong. That is why people fight so hard over it. I'm not saying it's right, only that it's true.

There is so much strife because people can see past their blinders. They were raised a certain way and taught a certain thing..and if you don't agree..then you are wrong.

All religions are great and good..its a belief that makes you feel whole. No one can tell you that you are right or wrong. If you are happy with your beliefs, then go about your business and worship on however you want to.

Amen! All religions are valid, and one religion is only more valid than another to the individual who follows it. It does not mean another religion is wrong just because you follow one. We would be far better off discussing other religions in an open and honest way to deepen our own faith, rather than pointing fingers toward other religions in a moment of fear.

Wicca is a twentieth century advent from England. study the nature of the founder? Mohammed a warrior with a minimum of 12 better halves (one replaced into in reality six 12 months previous). Jesus Christ lived as a celibate pacifist. study the claims of the founder? Did Jesus fulfill previous testomony prophecy? Did the different founder declare to be God? different expectancies.. you would anticipate the founder to be linked with miracles. you would anticipate his witnesses to be in accord with what the claims. you would anticipate his witnesses to die for his or her faith. you would anticipate the followers of any faith to coach distinctive feature and make this international a better appropriate position.

There is nosuch thing as one being better than the other. This is just an excuse to control their own groups.
If what your religion, philosophy or cult, teaches you a path of compassion, love, generousity, non violence, honesty etc.
Then you are in the right place, call it Protestants,Baptists,Buddhists,Wiccans,Catholics,Etc.It's not the name ,it's the teachings.
We should respect everyone's beliefs, what makes anyone think they have the only true answer or path?
