You pursue them, by having the confidence and trust in yourself.... Yes, it is hard when family and friends don't believe in you, but you have to find the strength to believe in yourself...
Never let anyone not even your parents, tear you away from your dreams.. If it's in your heart and it's what makes you happy, then go for it... If it means to keep your distance from your family for awhile, so that you may concentrate on your dreams, then do so....
Don't go through life every wondering "what if" because you let your family and friends interfere....

You will have to think carefully. Are they always putting you down on everything or only on this dream that you have? Maybe they are trying to stop you from hurting yourself if you fail in pursing this dream that you have. Parent and close friend sometime know us more than we know ourself. If they ALL put you down I will questions their reason and listen to their advice before pursing (maybe lofty) dream.

You have to remember maybe it was a teacher or a friend's parent or a distant relative, someone said you were worth it. You are. Never forget it. What others dish out, fight twice as hard to maintain your stance. Do it for you and you only.
