As I understand it, God punishes someone for 'spilling his seed' on the ground before having sex with someone that God wanted him to get with. So you could either look at the masturbation as a sin, or the fact that he disobeyed God, by trying not to get the girl pregnant.

Depends on the impulse used as inspiration. It is in a way but to lessening degrees. If its about your girlfriend and she's ok with it thats tacit consent and ok, if its porn it may seem ok but that can warp a person's perception of interacting with the opposite sex. If its about someone you know but aren't "with" or even an ex-girlfriend thats tantamount to rape in the mind-suspending that persons image long enough to pretend to be having sex with them. That also leads to a warping of the platonic relationship so its quite wrong too.
Thats just my opinion.

Not just the Christian Bible. The Jewish Torah and the Islamic Koran also traditionally teach that "spilling one's seed" is considered a sin.
Although modern religious scholars debate that.

No, it's a great stress reliever...and also will help you to avoid that whole premarital sex thing if you're weird like that. It helps you to "know" yourself better too. This way, when you actually DO have sex, you know what works for you and you can share that information with your partner. Go for it baby.

I do not feel that masturbation is a Sin. It is 100% safer than actual sex and no one can please you like you do.
