Try looking for home remedies...a good way to lighten skin is with natural citrus (lemon)..and if you would like to make your own stuff at home...simply mix plenty of lemon juice and coco butter (can be ordered or buy the stick at a store and melt until softened) apply this mix at night to the areas...and shower it off in the morning....The same can be done for a brown sugar scrub....brown sugar mixed with lemon....remember to put on Sunscreen until the area you want in lightened...for old scars...more abrasive stuff might be used like Loreal's Microdermabrasion...It's what I'm using now...You have to stick with it...and use sunscreen.....for more info....email me.

I've had success with Maderma scar remover, but it is not an overnight wonder worker. Same goes with Porcelana which will fade dark spots, but it takes about 3-4 weeks to do so.
I just opened the Campaign 12 Avon catalog and on page 66 they have Anew Luminosity Ultra lotion which is an advanced skin brightener. My Avon rep says it is guaranteed to fade age spots, freckles and skin discolorations in 7 days. It sells for $15.

There is no quick fix..Mary Kay has a new essence lotion that fades dark spots over time and you need to wear sunblock to keep from getting new dark spots on face.
