The "army of one" recruting campaign was designed by the Leo Burnett Agency back in 2000. The campaign goal was to attract "generation Y" kids to the military by letting them know that as "one soldier" each of them could make a difference; the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Army of one indicates that the strength in numbers lies in the strength of each individual's conviction and commitment and that each soldier is responsible for his actions and for upholding the values and tenets of the Army.

It's a slogan that means that all members of the Army are striving toward one main goal. The Army wishes that each member have the same interests for the country and, therefore, would strive their best to keep the country safe and serve the country. Therefore, they are an Army that is dedicated to one interest: the United States.

It means that in the military the company, that is the group of men and women, have to think a like and work a like to protect themselves from outside enemies. An army of one is like your body, if you hurt your arm, you are going to feel the pain everywhere. It means that everyone must work as one to promote unity and sportsmanship during the good and the tough times.

The concept is one of a promotion that symbolizes individuality. Something you will never find in the REAL ARMY!

It may be an Army of One, you are just not the one!!

God bless and protect our soldiers, sailors and airmen! I am a proud veteran and thank every one of them on active duty today!

Well, you know how an entire army is used to defeat an enemy or protect the country? Armies are generally made up of thousands of soldiers. "Army of One" means one person taking on an enormous task on their own.

It means that one person can make the difference. The U.S. Army's slogan simply means that every person matters. Every person that joins the army makes a difference for our country. Yes, numbers matter, but without 1 you can't have any.

I think it is a way of saying a group of many with the mind(generally speaking) of one. Perhaps the same purpose or goal. It is the slogan for the US Army
