The American Revolution was long, slow and hard, for both
sides. But now we have freedoms, that were not imagined
4 or 5 hundred years ago. 50 or 100 years from now the
Iraqis will look back on this period with great gratitude. And so
will the rest of the world.

We are not freeing anybody. Before the US got involved in this mess, people were living better than they are now. It is true that the previews regimen was very brutal but the only reason that the U.S. is there is because Europe was about to make a move on Iraq's oil.

Freeing them from what is the best question.

We have to also assume that our presence is "helpful". The only people on the planet that can answer that are Iraqi citizens.

Everyone else is just talking to hear their voices.

In order to help anyone, they have to be ready to receive it. They are not at the point where they are ready for our help because they still believe the lives they lived before weren't that bad. By resorting to brute force, it has left their country in shambles, without guidance or a plan for its future they came up with on their own. So to answer you question, it is impossible to free a country warring with itself; it has to free itself.

nothing is wrong with helping our fellow man as you put it, that is if they wanted our help. They don't want freedom, our troops should have never been sent over their in the first place.
