disagree. what they DIDN'T tell you about that meeting was that only black people can say it. If a white person says it we get in trouble. I personally think we should outlaw the word in it's entirety as socially unacceptable, but that's never gonna happen.

No!! Would it matter if a white man say it with an "a"? Not likely. First off, remember the saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?" Well, that's not true if it's the "N" word. Call a white man cracker, honky, white boy, red neck, Archie Bunker and see what happens. NOTHING!! Why? Because they don't let it "break their bones" as a black man does when the "N" word is uttered. It's like two school kids on the playground, trying to find someway to irritate the other. The more you react to it, the more they use it. Try turning the other cheek. Don't let the media and outside organizations (NAACP) tell you what to think and believe. Stop picking at the scab and the sore will heal. Then, we won't have the Gov't deciding what is okay for us to say.

NO!! Anyway you put it, no matter who uses it, black, white, green, purple, brown, yellow, any color, any person, IT'S DEMEANING AND DISGUSTING!! This term should not be used. It's a disgusting word. It was used in slavery days and should stay there. I don't know why everyone who is "non-white" as tried to own this word as a reference to "friend" (n**ga), but if a "white" person uses it, (ni**er) it's demeaning and offensive!
How about NOBODY use it???? African Americans have come to far in history to even accept this word or try to make it their own so that "white" people will stop using it. You only give them PERMISSION to use because you use it!
It shouldn't be okay to use such a term. No matter who the person. Only ignorant people use that word whether it end in A or ER, it's not right!!

I think it how the person uses the word. "N" with an "a" at the end means a term of endearment, such as a friend. "N" with an "er" at the end is viewed as derogatory term. I, myself, personally do not like either one.
