He was Priest of God Most High, not Abraham's priest. He did Bless Abraham and many believe that he is a sort of foreshadowing (here come the literary terms) for Jesus. Not much is said about him maybe two or three lines.

Throughout the scripture (including Old Testament) God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit always interacted in the lives of the people of that day. Perhaps, you might know that Jesus has always existed; he only came to earth as a man for 33 years in the New Testament.
Melchizedek is said to be like Christ, for he was Christ. God does not have two sons. There is no God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and Melchizedek. Remember, the scripture actually gave you a definition of Melchizedek. It says he does not have a father or mother and that He does not have a beginning of days. Every man has a beginning and an ending; therefore, he cannot be man.
Also, we pay tithes to God. Abraham paid tithes to God. Just because Abraham did not call Him Jesus does not take away from His divinity. He has many name meanings, but they all mean the same.

Melchizedek is a character in the Old Testament that brought bread and wine to Abraham after the victory over the four kings who had taken his nephew Lot while besieging Sodom and Gomorrah. He is also known as "King of Salem" and "Priest of the most high God". In Psalms King David refers to the future kings, or messiah, as "priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek." Catholics believe that Jesus followed the order of Melchizedek at the last supper when he broke bread and wine with his diciples.
