We'd be wiped out in approximately 3.2 seconds.

In the first place there are no aliens. Outer space aliens, that is. People of earth have been fighting since the beginning and will continue to do so until a level of intelligence is reached to restrain the savage beast. Might take a long time, but one must be optimistic.

the region with this question is that we do not quite understand extraterrestrial beings and what they might do. One probability will be that ought to arrive in such small numbers that if we concentration our efforts shall we triumph over them, yet when we divided we are able to fall. on the different hand they're going to ensue in huge numbers with such kick **** tech that we've little or no probability. nevertheless they might invade for another purpose, and in reality merely ignore us. i'd say a collection of agency human beings from yet another planet would ensue and take over some notably saleable source ( i'd suspect earth paintings, perchance invade the Louvre, kidnap Oprah Winfrey, and zap all performance artists, because...extraterrestrial beings have style). for this reason the desire take what they choose and go away us on my own. extraterrestrial beings will be so alien that that's complicated to predict. in accordance to the earth animals they may well be like the alien in Predator, or perchance they may well be like the Alien in Alien. The will be like ants, and use earth as a base, and take our aspects. perchance they may well be like us, which ability they're going to attack for his or her personal glory.

Or You could keep smoking pot all day? :-) lol

Do you not think if such an advanced race having the ability to Travel intergalacticly that is without dying as some of the closest stars are thousands if not millions of light years away thus implying that a crew would die(working on human life spans). they would Henceforth have to copulate (Fully Un-adulterated Carnal Knowledge, just read the text in CAPS) to ensure that the mission was completed but eventually leading to inbreeding (incest-not sure of the spelling but I'm sure that you get ma drift "It's a game for all the family". "It's Mr Nasty time" that sort of thing) and mutations and malformations. This can even lead to Retardation. (Look at George Bush :-) couldn't resist,Sorry Mr Bush. But something is definitely missing from him and those who voted him in for a 2nd time, please arise from your slumber you may make an educated vote next time )
Even if they are intent on universal domination would they not of came knocking on our doors forcing us into slavery(probably the minimum that would happen).
Anyway do you think that Humans will forget the atrocities that we have inflicted upon each other for so many generations?(Not saying that I would not appreciate such circumstances of course, there's too much animosity in our everyday lives) I'm sure some folk would be involved in some kind of tragic training exercise.
It could go Little something like this:
Dave: "Ooohp's, dam shot him in the back".
Dave: " 'y, what"?
Paul : "They are on our side now!"
Dave: "Who is?..... The aliens?"
Paul : "Na man! the fu*in _______ you Di*k (please apply your own nation/person etc, I ain't being accused of being a racist).
Paul : "[ __(They)__ ] are helpin us now!"
Dave: "Ohhh well!" "Dude, 2 for 1 saves us a job after we beat this alien scum!!!"
Both :"down with the scum"
Both : "For Queen and Country"
And then we won. and legends and heroes were born and made etc. etc.
The End.
Just think how well the UN, works? Half the time they couldn't organize a ho down in a brothel without it turning into a 15 yr debate as not one person can agree on anything. ahh, the beauty of politics
We as Humans thrive in survival of the fittest we (or at least I do) live in a capitalist country (it's just the modern day equivalent of such behavior,more civilized on the exterior but probably as violent). We will always want to be on the top or at the pinnacle of our culture.
Well that used up 15Min's of my life, Cheers:-)

Nope - if someone as the technology to get here from that far away I think we are screwed (to use a military term).

I don't believe that there would be any more than a temporary halt to protect folks own areas (including some groupings like NATO) so that in the unlikely event the aliens got scared off it would be business as usual.

Peace out

No, the liberals would grant them half of France and most of Africa, the conservatives would deny they exist in the first place and the average Joe and Franny Six-Pack would invite them to the trailer park and race them against their souped up stock cars and then have a barbecue and get them drunk. It would then turn out that to aliens, alcohol is pure poison, they'd all die and we'd be marked on the revised alien invasion maps "Avoid...."

Probably not. What if, for example, the aliens made an agreement with Muslims to wipe out all people except Muslims and become Muslim themselves? It's doubtful that Muslims would remain on the side of their fellow humans.

You can theorize all sorts of treacherous human behavior such as this.

Yes. Humanity has always bonded together towards a common threat, especially one from outside this planet. Ultimately, we would take an "us" (humanity) vs. "them" (aliens) mentality...afterall, what's the point of being a king if there was no kingdom to rule?

I would expect that:

France would surrender to them rather than risk a war;

The remnants of the Taliban would walk into an alien death ray to earn their 40 virgins;

Spain might fight them until one of their commuter trains took a hit;

Germany would try to negotiate with them;

but the US, with help from England and Bulgaria, would whoop their hides.

There would just be more conflict around the world because everyone would have differing ideas about how to defeat the aliens!

We'd probably kill ourselves off way before any aliens would.

Sort of.

I think we would cooperate with each other, but always look for ways to make our current enemies weaker. After all once the aliens were gone, we have to go back to fighting each other. Right?
