Hi, I am a photographer. I love taking pictures of nature. I was just wondering if anyone knows in general how much you can make selling your pictures? Obviously it depends on size and quality, but i just want a general number. Thanks.
Ps. People are usualy pretty blown away at my photos...it's my camera's fault..lol!!! They all think i have talent and that my photos are great.

The answer is that art of any kind has two values. One is what it is worth to you as the artist. The 2nd is what someone will pay for it. You will not know the 2nd until you try to sell your work. Keep in mind, your photographs are unique, but not in the way a painting or sculpture is; any one buying a photograph from you knows that you can sell 100 of the same exact photos. This may limit the amount someone would be willing to pay for a photo by an unknown photographer. Unless you have connections, good place to start trying to see what folks are willing to pay for your photos is to set up a table at a crafts show or flea market. A nice frame increases the value, but also increases your cost.

Good luck... keep in mind, you my not make a lot of money, but it feels good to have someone appreciate your work enough to pay a few bucks for it.

First you'll have to find a stock photo site that will accept them. Most of the stock photos these days run several cents per copy of the photo.

it depends on the subject of the photo, whether you have a "bundle" of photos to sell and if you've gone to the trouble to get a copyright registration for your photos.
