I don't think that the baby will just change it's gender in a matter of months. Unless if the doctor who did the ultrasound made a mistake in diagnosing the baby's gender, then it could happen. But by law of nature and biology, the baby's genitalia and gender will not just magically change into something else.

I wsa 5 months pregnant when I had my first routine ultrasound, and the doc told me I was having a baby girl. Nine months later, I gave birth to a baby girl.

Goodluck!

I've been in medicine for 15 years and I've never heard that one! The baby's sex is already determined at birth and can be detected around 16 weeks through an ultrasound if you have a clear enough image and unobstructed view, However, there are times when occlusions in the view or other anomalies can cause a "misdiagnosis" in sex. I wouldn't be ready to bet the ranch just yet that you're having a boy or a girl just to be on the safe side but wait until your 32 week checkup and ultrasound. Good luck and congratulations.

An ultrasound is normally given at 5 months and at this time it is possible to determine the baby's sex. However it isnt completely foolproof. Sometimes the baby may be lying in such a way that it is hard to see the genetalia.
However babies do not change sex during the pregnancy. If you conceived a girl it will be a girl all the way through. Has your friend ever been pregnant?

No, the baby's gender will not change. Gender is determined by the sperm and genetalia are well formed by 4 1/2 months. There is not changing in the middle. Early in pregnancy, the genetalia are identical for both boy or girl, but then it changes to what it is supposed to be. Check out pregnancy websites to learn what is formed during the different times during pregnancy.

yes sometimes it happend cause sometimes the private part of the baby would be hiding so the doctor think it is a girl but after the baby reaches 6 or 7 month this parts starts to getout that area so they could really tell it is a boy. but i was that far when they told me i have a girl ,then i went after a month just to make sure and the doctor said it is still a girl. good luck, and congrats on ur pregnancy

The baby can't change sexes... sex is determined at the time of conception. They could however get a different ultrasound view... and they could realize it's a boy instead. Usually they are right with the first one... but it's happened otherwise many times! Have a healthy and happy pregnancy!

That is ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE. Babies cannot change gender. Gender is determined at conception.

A baby's gender is NOT determined at birth -- it is determined once the sperm meets the egg. The sperm carries either an X chromosome (which makes girls) or a Y chromosome (which makes boys) that determines gender. So gender is determined WAYYYY before birth -- at conception!!

The only thing that could possibly "change" your baby's gender is an incorrect reading of an ultrasound.

Nothing is 100% accurate until the baby actually comes out...but it cannot "change' into a boy. There is a very high chance that you are having a girl. Count on it.
