You can try to use a file recovery utility to retreive your files. There are two (2) free applications that I know of:

1.PC Inspector File Recovery (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,23069,00.asp)

2.Free Undelete (http://officerecovery.com/freeundelete/)

In order to use PC Inspector, you need to install it on a healthy hard drive or partition. Free Undelete can be installed on a USB drive.

PC World has a article on file recovery at (http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,120340,pg,4,00.asp)

there are data recovery programs that exist or you can try force copying it with a unix utility. But you may be sunk that is why its important to create backups every now and then so your not totally sunk. Most Data Recovery tools are expensive and demo will not work fully unless you plunk down the cost of the software.

if u dont have an experience in data recovery -- then dont do anything!! if what youve said is right the best what you can do is seek professional help. if partition structure has been lost its very imoprtant that u dont do anything with that drive unless you do know what are you doing! dont even power it on! if you want to recover your data then seek professional help and do nothing yourself!

this sounds as if its time for another lesson -

"back-up your important data"
but seeing as it looks as if you might have lost it already remember that one for the furture.

There data recovery specialists around but don't expect it to be cheap. They normally work the police and government etc - those who can afford them.
