Hmmm... if you drink too much, it's similar to the effects of alcohol. Women under the effects of alcohol are more promiscuous and less inhibited.
The end result = pregnancy.
I suppose they blame the Robitussin and not their poor judgement.

The Robitussin with the ingrediant GUAIAFENESIN thins mucous. Sometimes fertility clinics prescribe this because it can facilitate the fertilization process. Sounds gross, yeah, but it has to do with the motility, (swimming).

there is something in the makeup of Robitussian which allows the sperm to swim easier. It does something to the fluid of the woman.
