wow... that's fast! My son didn't start rolling over from tummy to back until he was 3 months old, and that's pretty average.
I don't think there is anything wrong with it, just that now you have to hope that he's not walking by 5 months! =)

Quite common for a strong baby! My children all could roll over at an early age, along with holding their heads up and crawling early. The best way to get them stronger is to let them do things for themselves, even at this early age. Don't keep them in a swing or baby seat for long periods. Give them floor duty often. They need to strengthen their muscles early on!

Every baby is different. You should get the book "What to expect the first year" it is wonderful and answers alot of development questions you may have. Your son is fine, just an early learner! Who know, he may stop then not pick it back up again for a couple months. Kids are a wonderful mystery. Enjoy and Congrats!!

Average age is 3-6 months (see sources section below). It's uncommon for a baby to roll over that early.

Wow! He's turning over at 5 weeks?! That's amazing. Most babies start turning over at about 4 to 5 months. Looks like you have a fast learner/ high acheiver on your hands! Congratulations!

My son did this at three weeks. Then he forgot how he did it. So, now at three months he's not been able to repeat it.
Perhaps what I did wrong was not be consistant enough with him. Maybe if you try to keep getting him to do it every day he'll keep it up.
BTW, how much did your baby weigh at birth? My son was 9.8 lbs and 21 1/2 inches. I was told by other moms of larger babies that this was the case with their babies also. (Being ahead on some of the milestones)

Well, all babies are differant! They can all mature at differant times! It is great that your baby learned to roll over that early, that means he can be gaining a personality! It is all differant for new mothers!
