If you got it done by a professional, you should be all set. They have health inspectors going in to their shops and such to check on everything. Now if your friend just did it, that's different.

For healing time, it can take 4-6 months to heal, so DON'T PICK AT IT. What you do to clean it is, use Bactine twice a day after washing hands and piercing. Inbetween those times, you can use a small cup with warm water and some sea salt and let your piercing soak for about 30 minutes. You should do that twice a day too. The salt really helps the healing process, so don't leave it out!!! If it scabs, don't worry, that's normal, but don't pick at it. Use Q-tips and clean it. Also ,it's a good idea to use a liquid soap like Ivory since it's not Anti-bacterial...Good luck, and remember NO PICKING!!!

You are fine. The worst that may happen is it could get infected if not cleaned properly. Make sure you clean it regulary and move it around so it wont try to heal around the navel ring. Follow all of the care instructions and you'll be okay. I've had a few piercings and never any problems and have had my navel pierced since I was 15.

I have no idea if you are safe. If the man who did it insured that this is safe, then i'm all for it. Yay you! you stepped out there and did something different, but also opened your body to infection, even if the tools are new. if you don't apply triple antibiotic or another ointment to it when it begins to be infected, it will continuously infect and feel much worse.

you should be fine. just keep it clean. wash it with some kind of antibacterial soap 2 or 3 times a day. make sure to rotate it daily so the ring doesn't heal to the skin. and i know they probably told you to clean it with hydrogen peroxide, but use rubbing alcohal instead. you don't have to worry about it getting into your bloodstream or any crap like that. it's an old wives tale. get some of those little pads you can carry around with you. good luck!

dissolve a few tablespoons of kosher salt in warm water, lean over the glass to form a suction on your belly and lean back so the salt water is on the piercing...hold it there for about 10 minutes two times a day. Kosher salt is pure salt and protects from infection.
