i live in nc, on coast. ur in a high wind zone u can increase the cost by 20% for tie downs, bolts, straps....
if built to code, and not in a flood zone u can figure about $ 3,500.00 but if ur over 30" from the ground u will have to have handrails. and if u dont get a permit, remember that if for some reason u have to make a claim on ur insurance( storm, fire....) then the deck is not covered. the adjuster will go and pull the permits to see if u have one. plus, the tax man that comes around every 3 yrs to value ur home will look at the last inspection he made to see if anything added. and it is red flagged at the inspectors office. people get caught here all the time....major fine and made to be fixed to code!

Go to lowes.com OR home depot.com and you can get the latest price for materials - they even give you a list of what to buy. A reasonable estimate is $ 10.00/SF = $ 2,560 - including all the hardware and screws for the deck boards.

build the deck around the amount of money you want to make the deck including what rarities or a cheap budget deck.

id say about fifteen hundred dollars if you search around and find a good quality wood for the cheapest price.it is also alot cheaper if you do it yourself.
