Although there are about 20 species of dolphins that venture into rivers occasionally, there are only four species that never leave fresh water habitats.

River dolphins are sometimes regarded as "living fossils" and are believed to be the descendents of marine dolphins that moved inland to live in rivers and lakes.

I dont know about pink "river" dolphins.
What i can say is that they have pink dolphins that reside off the coast of Singapore.
Any type of animal would gain a pinkish tinge if they ate a diet consisting of just shrimps as the colour turns their skin pinky tinged.
So, yes, if one of these dolphins migrated to a river you could call them "river" dolphins but I doubt they would migrate that far?
