it could be ovulation pains since you ovulate about 12-14 days before your period.

A couple of weeks before your period sounds like the time when you are ovulating. I have never felt pain during this time, though. I guess some people must be more sensitive then others. However, I do get mild cramps about 24 hours before my period, so I always know when its coming, which can be good, because its not necessarily regular.

It is normal to get period like cramps a couple weeks before your period. Two weeks before you have your period (roughly) you ovulate, which can cause some cramping. Two weeks after ovulating (roughly) you have your period.

Yes, definently Its a normal process that your body takes. Cramps are the first sign you can get to warn you that you might get your period within a couple of days or so. Dont be alarm I get mood swings which is worst. Lucky you!

if they stay there for the entire time till your period then you might have a small problem but its probably no big deal. If they do not stay and there on a certain spot on your belly, over to one side more then the other then you are probably just ovulating. its painful sometimes, like it is with me.
