Where do you live? How much time do you have? and How much money do you want to spend? Assuming you live in the US.

If you have a lot of time and alot of money I suggest New Zealand. Go for at least two weeks and work your way through the north and south islands.

If you have the money but not the time, London is a great city to visit even for a short 3 or 4 night stay but it is very expensive.

If you have some time but not a ton of money Guatemala offers culture, natural history and good prices.

If you have a budget and limited time maybe San Diego, or if you are on the east coast Washington, DC.

Gettysburg, PA. It's filled with history and beauty. The park guides and rangers are very kind as well as the locals. There are reenactments of the battle that ensued there in July of 1863 every year. There are many reasons to go there, especially if you are into ghosts. Gettysburg is chock full of 'em. If you went there 100 times in your life, you're bound to see at least 20 ghosts. I've even had a terrifying encounter with a Confederate ghost on the battlefield.

Definitely a cruise. They treat you like royalty, even if you are in the cheapy rooms. The beds are made in the morning, turned down at night. Meals are like 5 star restaurants with anything you want. You get to see a variety of locations during the day, different each day and each night there is a live show as if you were in Vegas.

After our first cruise, we try to take one a least twice a year. It is incredible.

Depending on your location, and whether or not you want to drive or fly, but Cape May, New Jersey is wonderful. You are close to Atlantic City and other attractions for night life, and still have the quaint sea shore to relax by during the day.
