You can get some basic information on public companies from websites like www.hoovers.com but if you want the more detail data you're gonna need to pay.
Now what kind of information you need for the profiles? Depending on that, you can have a lot of other options to get this information.

you can sign up to Edgars for a free trial period, and get all of the SEC reports for public companies
