Everybody's body is different. I start spotting/period a few weeks before it's time for my shot and within a few days of the shot it stops. The weight thing, it took them a while to put weight on me I didn't gain right away. I think I weighed in around 112 and I finally reached 120 in about 1 1/2 now I down to 117 usually. I did bleed once non stop for about a week it was really scary but that hasn't happened in a while (knock on wood). Good luck and take care of yourself.

I had the depo 9 years ago and after my first shot I had no period .
I got 2 shots and then quite getting them because I went from 125 lbs to 175 lbs in 2 months and after I quit the depo shot I did not have my period for 3 years.
But anyways everybody is different and sometimes you still get your period even with the depo. Good luck on not getting your period

Yep, I immediately stopped having my period. Then after being on the shot for about a year, the bleeding came back and never went away so I got put on birth control pills for a while and went back to the shot. Does make you gain weight though...sucks a** too.
