I might have to get them and I am really nervous. I heard they really hurt, but I don't know if thats true. PLEASE HELP ME!!

Braces aren't that bad. What IS bad, is adults with really bad-looking teeth. Sometimes I see adults with really horribly crooked teeth, and I wonder why they didn't get those fixed as kids, or as adults for that matter. Having good teeth is something that can make or break your appearance. I recently saw a girl who had a very cute figure, thin, nice hair, pretty face, and then she smiled and her teeth were awful. It was scary.
Now they can make braces that are clear or fit in the back of teeth, so they aren't as noticeable. Plus braces are cute, even the all-metal ones. They make you stand out, and you can shoot rubber bands at people with your teeth--most people can't do that.
You might want to have a second opinion (a professional opinion from two different dentists) about braces, though--not because they're bad or anything, but because they're very expensive and orthodontists want to make money putting braces on kids.

Well, its not really painful, your mouth is just sore for a few days after you get them. After you get them tightened it will feel sore also. Oh, and once you have to wear the rubberbands (anyone who has braces will know what I mean) it will be really annoying, but afterward you will have a beautiful, expensive smile. I just hope you're young because it may be awkward to have braces when you're older.

no they don't hurt.. they looked cute on me. i had them for a year & just got them out like 2 months ago & i miss them like crazy! make sure you keep them CLEAN omg some people think getting braces means they can go natural & not take care of their teeth lol
oh yea, when you go on your monthly visits to get them tightened you'll feel a lil pressure & you probably won't want to eat certain things for a few hours, but like i said before it doesn't actually "hurt".

after u get it on, it hurts for like a week. u can't chue, or move u'r mouth, but after a week u forget about it.
the 1st time they tighten it, it hurts for like 3 days.
the rest of the time u don't even notice it.but the worst part is when put on the rings, the part of braces at the back of u'r teeth

well heres the thing some of my friends have braces and every time they get them tighten they say it hurts to chew my friend just got hers off like a week ago and her teeth r so str8

Well, some people look seriously cute in braces. My best friend wears them and they make him look really good.
