It has not been research enough yet but it can be hereditary. I'm having surgery this Friday to find out how severe is my endometriosis. Drinking coffee can make it worse.

"As with all medical conditions, there may be many causal factors. Further relevant information on causes of Endometriosis may be found in the risk factors for Endometriosis, medications that may cause Endometriosis, contagiousness for Endometriosis, genetics of Endometriosis, and underlying causes of Endometriosis."

I had it when I was in my 20's.
According to my DR. it is caused by the lining of the uterus growing on the outside of your uterus and on other organs.

I had to go to the DR on the 1st day of my period and get some medicine shot up into my uterus with a needle. NO problem. It was fairly unpainful.
After a few months it disappeared
Consequently I was able to have more children years later.

MDs say no one knows and there is no cure. See site below to see what causes it and how it can be cured. No one knows what causes people to be fat (all genetic) and how to cure it. Is that true?
