I think my boyfriend of 3mths wants to ask me to marry him. But I think we have not known each other long enough. I love him with all my heart but I just dont know if I am ready.

Also he says if he ask and I decline then he will never ask again. I dont wont to lose him over this. Should I just say yes and have a long engagement.

don't worry about what other people think when it come to how long you have known each other if that is one of your reasons for wanting to say no. talk to him seriously and if you really do want to be with him and he wants the same he will understand. yes you could make it a long engagement and you don't have to set a date the day you get engaged so go ahead and take your time. if it doesn't work at least you gave it your best shot and you know for sure instead of telling him no and wondering "what might have been"! my husband and i were only together for 7 months when we got married and i was pregnant with another mans baby so it can work if both of you want it to!

If you're not ready, then you need to address it before he pops the question. A relationship is hard to rebound from a failed proposal. It's much easier on the guy to casually bring up you're not ready for marriage yet versus him on one knee getting shut down with a "no". Just tell him that you love him, build up how good of a person he is and you can't wait to see what the future holds for the 2 of you, but you're just not ready for marriage yet.

If you do not know if you are ready or not, then you're probably not. Marriage is a lifelong commitment. I would suggest just telling him that you love him very much, but you think it's too soon. Just be honest. 3 months is not very much time to get to know someone that you will hopefully spend the rest of your life with.

Three mnts is to quick tell him you will but you want a LONG engagement then get to know him because its real hard to REALLY know someone in that time frame
