After watching "The Journey," I've decided that I'd like to get married in India, but I don't know much about India's cities. Which cities are visited by Westerners the most? Which city would be the best to get married in?

Dear, the taste of India is so tempting that even if you get married (re-enact) in most of the places here, you would still feel for more. The more you explore, the more you get involved and attracted. So get married anywhere in India as per your convenience, and keep enacting the 'ACT" with your spouse on your every following anniversary at a different place. Still you may find this life time running short !!!!

Jaipur capital of Rajasthan. Ask anyone who has visited india will tell you the same. You will be surprised to see the weddings in Jaipur and there are so many places in jaipur, I would suggest Ram Bagh palace as the best, it is an open air like a garden and nice hotel. My sister just got married there.

Goa is the most popular Indian destination and is very Western friendly (so I've heard, never been there).
It's also close to airport and is quite a settled part of India, as it thrives on tourism.
You would have to travel out of Goa to sample authentic India, and this is something you'd have to look into if that was something you sought during your time in India.

Heather,
Depends on what you are looking for. India is much like Europe with lots of difference between each state. Consider each state and a country in terms of cultural differences.

From a westerner point of view, you have to decide between "south" or "north".

You can get married in North, places like "jaipur" or "udaipur" or in the south in Tamil Nadu or Karnataka or Kerala . I would suggest check out Kerala or Tamil Nadu.

If you want traditional, cultural city and also western then you can go for Chennai. This city is in south India.
Mumbai and Delhi are western cultured. Kolkata is quite traditional. These cities are in north India. These are all the major metropolitan cities.

All metropolitan cities (Delhi , Mumbai , Balnglore , etc ) are good to live in. But they are all over crowded.

Jaipur , Delhi , Mumbai are most visited.
